# Issues with category selection in WP-Discourse

I’m having real trouble with the latest version of WP-Discourse (0.6.6)
It’s not pulling the categories across from Discourse and nothing I do seems to change that.

I am unable to repro this issue on a fresh WP instance I just set up:
If you can PM me your WP Admin credentials I can check why you are having this issue.

did you get this figured out
i am getting same err
cant get ot to pull my category list
also cant get it to post on wordpress Post pages invitation to forum
I am not very skilled in this thanks greg

not very tech savy
cant remember much either ha ha

The “There was an error returning the category list from Discourse” error message in your screenshot indicates that there is a problem with the plugin’s configuration. If you go to the [WP Discourse](https://github.com/discourse/wp-discourse) Connection settings tab, are you seeing a notice saying that “You are connected to Discourse”?
For the API Key field on that page, have you entered an All Users API Key? If not, could you try changing the API Key to an All Users API Key? On Discourse the key should be generated like this:
For the [WP Discourse](https://github.com/discourse/wp-discourse) Publishing Username field, try using the name of the Discourse system user. Unless you have edited that username on Discourse, you should enter `system` into the Publishing Username field.

That got me connected
i created a new key
changed name to systm and now connected, thanks greg
