# Keep pinned topics at the top?

Firstly, if you go to your `preferences -> Interface` there should be this option:

Make sure it is **not** checked.

Secondly, make sure the topic isn’t muted. If it is it disappeares. Additionally, make sure that the topic is pinned.

If you are the administrator of the site, make sure these settings are un-checked
