# Limiting email notifications from discourse

We’ve limited email notifications to 3 per day on our community – but is there a setting to manually decide which posts go as email notifications to members? Or some way to basically send custom emails from discourse to all members?

I can’t think of a way. Either you want to limit the number of messages sent or you don’t.

If you want to send email to all users then using an email service is the way to go.

Is there a way to create a window for @mention notifications and replies to watched topics be bundled up into a single email notification to debounce them a little?

At present I find if I don’t have the discourse browser window visible I get email notifications… even though I am logged in and getting browser notifications for these replies/mentions.

Out of interest, how did you do this? Is there a setting for it?
