# Link that pre-populates the composer?

Hi,
I looked for a topic that requests the following and found [this one](https://meta.discourse.org/t/pre-populating-posts-with-some-criteria/19102), but I’m thinking there’s much more overhead with that.
What I want is to be able to link to our discourse forum site with parameters that will open up to a particular topic category, with the ‘Create a new Topic’ overlay pulled up, populated with some text.
EDIT: nevermind the ‘to a particular topic category’ portion of my request, as I see there is a route/slug that does that.
Is this possible?

This is now a duplicate another feature request which has been completed…
You can now prefill the subject / title and body content in the composer along with selecting a category via a link see:
