Links to dropbox images don't show images

If I past in a link to a public dropbox image like this:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/32qzw4sm323753r/Screenshot%202014-05-28%2016.02.56.png

(I’m new user so can’t include the image link in my post, but assume that the above text is inserted in my post)

Discourse interprets it as an image link and wraps in img element, but the image doesn’t load and display as it should in the post. I’m not sure if where the problem is, URLS look right, but maybe Dropbox doesn’t allow this sort of linking? Anyway if it’s impossible to make these images load maybe just treat as normal link and don’t try to turn into image?

This isn’t actually an Image but the link to a web-page showing an image, so wrapping that into a <img> tag won’t ever work (not on Discourse, not anywhere else). We could add a detection to Onebox that matches www.dropbox.com/.*(png|jpg|jpeg|gif) and extract the content properly though.

If you replace www.dropbox with dl.dropboxusercontent, you get this:

Is there a status on this?

A workaround was posted by @ben_lubar, and that’s good enough for me.
