Log in button under vote count looks odd to me

This UX looks odd to me.
A login button under a vote count?

To a new user, not logged in, it’s not clear the figure is a vote count.

I think it should just say “vote” or “votes” if you click it, and you’re not logged, it should prompt a login. Other forums work this way.

I’m not sure if this is something this particular forum has come up with or if it’s configurable in the plugin settings

Yeah I agree we should probably change it to Vote or Votes (depending on the count) its a bit unclear what the big number above it is and the functionality can remain just as is now for anon.

@techAPJ this should be an easy change, can you make it happen?

Thanks, I will give it a try

I think using vote/votes isn’t really consistent.

Blue buttons represent actions, the action is to vote, just as the action is ‘Reply’ irrespective of whether one or more response has been received.

What about + Vote — does that clarify that they’re votes, and make the button an action (adding a vote)?

(Stephen) #8

That’s closer to Reply yep

Agree, that’s best “+Vote” so it covers the call to action and what it is

Once you’ve voted it it doesn’t need a description, it’s obvious it’s votes. So it can just be a number.
