Like many others I’m sure, I’ve come here by way of Jeff’s blog, and am very impressed. No exaggeration, I think this is the forum software I’ve been waiting 10 years for. I’ve been bemoaning the terrible designs of most forum software for the last decade, which have steadily gotten more bloated but only marginally improved (notable exceptions being [Gog.com](http://Gog.com) and DeviantArt’s forums, which are proprietary, natch).
I was toying with the idea of going with either vanilla forums, or bbpress simply because they seemed minimalist compared to others, but now the decision has been made for me ;). I’ve even upgraded my linode account to 1 GB to give it a try.
What I espcially like, other than the care and attention that makes this seem like it has been “designed” rather than “cobbled together”, is that the fron page doesn’t scream “this is an empty site, there’s no-one here” when it’s just starting out. I plan to start rolling it out to my [Mac gaming-centric site](http://www.controlcommandescape.com/) soon, and see if it sticks.
