# Make \`?silent=true\` silent links work also for oneboxes and quotes

TIL today it is possible to append `?silent=true` to internal links so they donβt appear in the related links at the bottom of the linked topics.
I used this to tidy up related links on the welcome topic here on meta which will be confusing and appear to be overly technical to new members just as they are finding their feet in our community. Seems we like using that topic as an example here! π
As I was editing posts to append the `?silent=true` to links in topic, I learned that the backlinks still show up on oneboxed links, even with `?silent=true` is appended.
Also, I learned that it is not possible to append `?silent=true` to links in quoted text.
Could silent links for these two cases be added?
