# Make topics in sub categories, not appear in their main category

I have few category lets say I have category appeals for ban appeals and I have sub category Archived, how do I make the threads in archive not appear in appeal category.
Edit: This is just example btw, to help you understand the issue.

Topics in a sub-cat don’t appear in the parent, although there are cases where lists show topics from parent and child categories.
Can you show us a screenshot of what you mean?
Also note that we call them ‘topics’ not ‘threads’.
