# Make Unified View optional (permanently)

Hi,

Please make the new [Unified View](https://meta.discourse.org/t/introducing-the-unified-new-view-for-the-topic-list/404728) an optional setting. Not just temporarily, but permanently.

Having the “Unread” tab makes catching up on threads I’m active in much faster and more convenient. It also allows me to hit the “Unread” link in the Discourse Hub app, to go directly to the topics I’m interested in.

Please make it easy for us to keep the old “Unread” links on our site. We don’t care if you rename the links to “Replies,” but please let us keep the functionality.

In Discourse Hub, with the new unified view disabled:
