# Make username the first field in the sign up forms

I propose we make Username the first field in the sign up forms, because that is the most important field in the mind of the user (i.e. registering a username for themself).

The email field is currently not validated in the facebook sign up form (below). We had a user who I assume typed their preferred username into the first field and probably never even looked at the labels or other options. I think it’s a fair assumption, but it probably never comes up for others because the validation stops you from submitting the form.

Proposed order:

Username  
Name  
Email  
Password
