# Making archived posts dismiss "new" posts for all users

Would it be possible to make “Archive” dismiss posts as read for all users that had it in their notification list as new post (for watching/first post only)?

I wasn’t aware you can archive public posts. but I meant for private posts yes, my usecase is this, we have support & sales groups, if I read a post and noticed it’s spam (if it’s a real post and I replied to it), there’s no reason for anyone else to look at it.

If you notice it is spam why not delete?

I didnt know I could do that. That makes this a lot less important, however this would still be nice for already dealt with support.
