mapRoutes and I18n errors in the error log

(Scott Trager) #1

@Bill_S was working on one of our pages when suddenly the entire community stopped responding. After doing a rebuild, the site came back up and I went to the error logs to investigate. The following two errors have appeared in the error log today, the I18n error having occurred right before the “crash”:

Uncaught ReferenceError: I18n is not defined

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘mapRoutes’ of undefined

Likely some customization or modification on your site. If you can reproduce it on try.discourse.org or here, let us know.

Could you give a little more detail? We only have a few basic plugins installed and very little customization - how can you tell if its an issue with core or a plugin? Obviously I can’t reproduce it here since I can’t see the error logs…

I can’t recall seeing any errors about I18n not being defined in our logs. Do you have repro steps?

No steps to reproduce… Bill was working in CSS, refreshed the page to see the effect of his change (nothing unusual) and it looked like the page or web server had crashed. I SSH’d in and rebuilt the server and everything came back up but those two messages were in the logs- the top one is pointing at a JS file that appears to be part of core, and the second one is pointing straight at the main URL…

The Plugins we currently have installed are:

discourse (649dfd8)
docker_manager (09cc78a)
lazyYT
New Relic RPM (9e8a0de)
plugin_discourse_sidebar (49041ab)
poll

Those errors come up when one of the javascript files - application or vendor - fail to load. It’s a transient issue, it was caused by you rebuilding the server. No need to worry.
