# Lid zegt op; wordt opnieuw lid met hetzelfde e-mailadres

Hi, I have a member who accidentally cancelled their membership in Memberpress. They are rejoining using the same email, but Discourse will not let them use the same email and, therefore, the same Discourse account as before. Is there a way around this?? They have numerous posts that they don’t want deleted!

1. Change the member’s email in Discourse to something temporary i.e. `temp1@mydomain.com`.
2. Change the old username to a temporary one.
3. Have them join again via Memberpress with the old email. This should create a new user in Discourse.
4. Merge the old user `temp1@mydomain.com` with the new user.

You may need to temporarily disable `auth overrides email ` and `auth overrides username` in order to do this.
