# Merging users from different forums

You can use [SSO](https://meta.discourse.org/t/official-single-sign-on-for-discourse/13045) for this. You either need to set up an external identity provider, or use one install as the provider for the other (which may or may not make sense, depending on your use case).

Note that your users will still have separate profiles on both forums.
