# De site migreren van t3 naar t4 EC2 AWS amazon

I want to migrate from `t3 instance` to `t4 instance`. The `t3` have different architecture than `t4`, so simple change of `instance type` won’t work.
I have two options in my mind,
1. Installing the discourse on t4 instance as a brand new installation in accordance with official installation instructions and restoring the backup from t3 to t4.
2. Using amazons built in migration service (Don’t know if it works with discourse)
What are your suggestions? and what are the things that I need to be careful of etc

I’d certainly do it by installing a backup. It’s good practice and it proves the backup is good, too.

Create an AMI then launch it as T4.
