# Minimum required tags before posting a new topic

Is it possible to set a minimum number of required tags before a person is able to create a new topic?

Do you mean _per person_, as in they must have previously used a certain number of tags in order to continue to be able to post? Or just that a new post must have at least _N_ tags?
If the latter, that’s easy — set the “Minimum number of tags required in a topic” config option for the category:

Oddly enough I don’t have the same view as you’ve shared @mattdm. I have a Tags menu in my Admin console yet no “Minimum number of tags required in a topic”.
I wonder if someone from the Discourse team could help.
