Missing feature about warning on reviving an old topic

(Caue Rego) #1

I think the warning is great, but it’s missing one thing: it warns just the person who’s reviving, and not the readers.

I actually haven’t got mistaken by any revived topics, but I can see how I could, and how probably people do. Inexperienced as I am, I’m not sure how to implement a solution here, but here’s an idea:

Dim out all older posts. Pay attention to the dates.

Warn Reviving Old Topic setting?

So dim all old posts to make them harder to read, just to make the reader suffer and force them to “know” that these are older posts? This strikes me as a very bad idea.

One thing that we may eventually get to is putting in larger

Six months later…

horizontal bars between posts that have large time gaps.

One minute later … (just kidding)

Yeah, that’d be awesome!

I did think of something in that sense, just didn’t come up with such a nice implementation!

Now that I come to think about it, maybe it could also apply the dimming out and dim back to normal once you scroll up. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I don’t see us changing this to this suggested implementation.
