Moderator gets notifications for categories without permissions

(Massimo Redaelli) #1

I have a moderator that is receiving notifications from a group he doesn’t have permissions to read.
Moreover, if he clicks on the notification, he is able to read the argument.

Am I doing something wrong, or is this by design?

Was the discussion flagged? I believe when a discussion gets flagged, as long as the flag is active, moderators have the ability to see said discussion. Once the flag is cleared/agreed/deferred, then the access is gone.

Hmm nope, it’s not flagged

Groups don’t generate notifications – are you sure the category permissions are correct?

Ahhhh, now I see.

The user is in group G.
There’s category A, who is not readable by group G.
However, subcategory A/B is readable by G.

Somehow I thought that a subcategory would inherit restrictions from the parent category, but I was wrong.
