# Moderators are unable to edit tracking defaults on automatic groups

When `moderators manage categories and groups` is enabled, moderators see the manage tab on automatic groups. They can also open the option to edit category and tag tracking defaults. However, categories or tags added by an admin are not visible to them. Additionally, while they can add categories and tags in the interface and save, their changes are not saved. There is no error indicating that saving failed.

Is there a reason why moderators are not allowed to edit tracking defaults on automatic groups?
