# Modernizing inline script tags for templates & JS API

You’ll have to move the `api.decorateWidget();` part to the ‘JS’ tab under ‘Edit CSS/HTML’ in a theme. But do note that [widgets are now deprecated](https://meta.discourse.org/t/upcoming-eol-for-the-widget-rendering-system/375332); you’ll want to use [plugin outlets](https://meta.discourse.org/t/introducing-discourse-developer-toolbar/346215).
