# Multiple translations for Spanish on Transifex

I’ve noticed that there are multiple translations available on Transifex for the Spanish language, each one corresponding to a spanish-speaking country dialect of it (es\_ES, es\_AR, …), and another one more general (es).

However, when specifying the site locale on settings, I can’t select any country-specific variant, just “Spanish”.

How does it work? Is it possible to specify the country of the Spanish variant or is it automatic based on the broswer locale?

Discourse currently includes only one Spanish locale (es). You could create a PR for the locale variants if you want to have them included as well. See: [How to add a new language](https://meta.discourse.org/t/how-to-add-a-new-language/14970)
