# Need a how-to guide for using DigitalOcean Block Storage for image uploads

Ah. Was just curious if there were any considerable advantages, given that it’s not as ‘plug-and-play’ to set up. Sounds like more just a matter of preference.

S3 has the advantage of serving the files directly as opposed to your server pumping them out.
