Discourse has now been configured. You may now finish setting up Discourse

Then When I go to my ip address it displays This site can’t be reached

Which directions did you follow? Because those errors don’t look like the sort of thing that should come from an install made following our official guide.

How to use the Discourse One-Click Application on DigitalOcean

Thank you for any help! I am new to this!

(Matt Palmer) #4

That guide wasn’t written by us, and we don’t have any control over its quality. You’ll be best off contacting DigitalOcean support for assistance in working out why it isn’t working, or use our official installation instructions, which we can provide assistance with if anything goes wrong.

#5

I went through all of your steps, when I enter my ssh root, it asks for my password and then goes directly to discourse installation configuration, it wont let me install discourse **wget -qO- https://get.docker.com/ | sh **or** sudo -s** **mkdir /var/discourse** **git clone https://github.com/discourse/discourse_docker.git /var/discourse** **cd /var/discourse** ****

what am I doing incorrect.

Thank you for your help!

I don’t know. What error do you get?

(Cameron:D) #7

I think this is part of the install that Digital Ocean does. Delete that droplet and start a fresh new one following the official guide above.

Edit to clarify: from the few topics I’ve read about that one click install they launch the install on SSH login instead of bash. So best to start a new droplet without any of the one click stuff.

#8

ok. I will try it again. Thanks!

(Matt Palmer) #9

If you’re not starting with a fresh droplet, then you aren’t following the installation instructions. We cannot help you if you do things we don’t know about. You need to tell us everything you’re doing, exactly as you’re doing it, otherwise we cannot help you.

I started from scratch and got it. Thanks!
