Mismo problema para mí, cambié de disco SAS (300 IOPs con ráfaga a 1000) a disco SSD (1500 IOPs con ráfaga a 3000) y el rendimiento mejoró diez veces. (esos IOPs son restricciones de mi proveedor de nube)
