Interesting! Do you want to share about a customization you made, or your journey to using Discourse?

Hi @Dennis_Griarte welcome to Meta 👋

since you posted a link to your new forum i had a look. here are some quick observations and recommendations:

> A community for night owls, horror writers, and anyone who comes alive after dark…

- given the forum subject matter, perhaps a default dark theme would be appropriate; the light horizon theme feels a bit out of context for nocturnal night/vamp/horror-inspired content
- i’m not wholly clear on the purpose though - is it for writers, horror-genre fans, or people who can’t sleep?
- your [logo](https://canada1.discourse-cdn.com/flex027/uploads/darklife/original/1X/84bee93be0ea32e17d1e9805f1d4b1750b148f62.jpeg) appears to be a facebook meta ai generated full page mobile image - perhaps cropping it to actual logo size would make it fit better and be more readable?
- having 2 welcome topics feels redundant
- perhaps start some other topic discussions and get some users you know in your target community to sign up to kickstart it’s activity - the forum so far only has one member (you) and the 2 welcome topics so it is lacking content
- if you are looking to attract new users, perhaps sign up on [Google Search Console](https://search.google.com/search-console/about) and get your site listed to be indexed, and post links to it in places where you know your target audience tend to read

They have a lot of tips that are helpful even when you are starting a new community site from scratch – and they do already deal with exactly some of the challenges that you mention here. There are a couple of things: content is king try to model behaviour that you want to see — actively engage with anyone who posts on your site it takes time for people to form a habit to regularly check your site The b…

Just a quick clarification, @Dennis_Griarte .

Meta is not the right place to run functional tests or promote trial sites. If you’re experimenting with Discourse features, please use our demo [try.discourse.org](https://try.discourse.org) instead.

Also, please avoid sending direct PMs to individual Meta users for test-related or site-related content. Meta is intended for support and community discussion, not for external testing workflows or unsolicited outreach.

Thanks for helping us keep Meta focused and useful for everyone.
