# New install won't bootstrap; gem update socket error?

try:

docker run -it --rm ubuntu bin/bash

```

you can force a dns if needed in the docker conf [https://docs.docker.com/reference/commandline/cli/#daemon](https://docs.docker.com/reference/commandline/cli/#daemon)
