# New posts counter recalculated when filtering on new posts

When going to the Discourse main page, I see (in this example) there are 29 new posts. But when I click on **New (29)** to filter those posts, the number is changed to 24. This happens a lot of times, sometimes the number even goes from 27 to 10. Always down, never up.
