# "New topic approval" and "New reply approval" require global default values

It’s great to see these two features, especially that they can be set separately for each different category in multiple modes.  
However, if I want to set up a group where every user in that group must have their posts reviewed by a moderator, I would have to configure these groups on each category setting, and I must not forget this setting when creating new groups.

That’s true, we do have two global settings: `approve_unless_allowed_groups` and `approve_new_topics_unless_allowed_groups` , but they only serve the purpose of the _Everyone except selected groups_ mode in existing category settings. The scenario described above—where by default everyone can post, and only after certain events occur, some people are manually set to require review—requires the mode `No one except selected groups` , which the current global settings cannot support.
