# New Topic button stays after permissions are removed for posting

I have an announcement board that I have set to only allow mods and admins to post to. When I changed the “everyone” permissions to see only, the New Topic button does not dissappear.
A user can click it and type in text; but when they try to post it, they get an error stating 403 forbidden. They shouldn’t even have the option showing to post a new topic.

Agree the UI is not ideal here, but this is a duplicate, so closing this one.
