# Newly created: Where do I configure user login and authentication? Cannot find the settings

Hi Discourse community,

I just set up my Discourse site at **[https://aniluxion.discourse.group](https://aniluxion.discourse.group),** and I’m stuck — I cannot find where to configure user login and authentication.

**The problem:**  
Right now, users cannot log in or register because I haven’t configured any authentication method yet. I’ve looked through the admin panel, but I’m not sure where the login/authentication settings are located.

**What I’ve tried:**

- Went through all settings in the admin panel (looked under Settings, Users, Security)
- Searched for “login”, “authentication”,
- Checked the official documentation, but still unclear where to start

**What I need help with:**

1. Where exactly in the admin panel do I configure basic user login (username/password) and optional social logins?
2. Are there any required steps before authentication starts working (e.g., email setup, site URL, etc.)?
3. Is there a setup checklist I might have missed?

This is a fresh install — I haven’t touched any authentication settings because I simply cannot locate them.

Any guidance would be much appreciated. Thank you!
