# 'no ads for groups' doesn't work if members can't see the group

Is this intentional behavior? I have several users who click on so many ads that it raises red flags with the ad networks. I would like to stop serving all advertising to them as discreetly as possible, but the `no ads for groups` setting doesn’t work if the group isn’t visible to its members.

Yes I can confirm that it has no effect. I’m guessing it’s because the existence of the group is hidden from the user, so the ad plugin js can’t know about it. Some fix will need to be made on the server side of the plugin.
