# No documentation for Google login for fresh installations

Google is deprecating their less secure applications feature in September of 2024.

Currently that is the only documented method for setting up Google Gmail/Workspace as your SMTP provider for a new, supported, [standard install](https://meta.discourse.org/t/install-discourse-in-production-with-the-official-supported-instructions/142537):

I’d love to know if anyone has any guides on how to do a new, clean installation of Discourse with the soon-to-be required installation of Google OAuth (as well as how to transition).
