# Non Admin Role for Viewing Reports

Hi,
From what I’ve read and tested out, a user has to be a full Admin to be able to view reports. Is that correct? Is there any way to permission a user who isn’t an admin so they could view them?
We’d like to give some people in our marketing department access to read and run reports, but not have them be a full admin.

No AFAIK. But you/admin can give access to [data explorer](https://meta.discourse.org/t/32566?silent=true). Those reports can be more accurate and usefull.

To view reports off the admin dashboard you do need to be a staff member (admin or moderator)
However, as Jakke said you can use the [Data Explorer](https://meta.discourse.org/t/32566?silent=true) plugin to give certain groups access to reports. You can even re-create the reports from the admin dashboard in [data explorer](https://meta.discourse.org/t/32566?silent=true) from the topic below and give access from there.
