Non-existent users waiting for approval

  1. Be a moderator.
  2. Visit the Discourse site.
  3. Notice that the notification badge indicates there are users awaiting approval.
  4. Follow the link, check the admin page and see that there are zero users awaiting approval.
  5. Realize the badges are never going to go away.
  6. Wallow (optional)

This was fixed by @neil last week. Are you on latest? Be on latest. On latest, we only insert one of these messages if there are no others pending.

(Sorry, @eviltrout I am not ever going to be saying to people “are you on canary? be on canary?” because that is insane ;))

Oh wait, except we shouldn’t be notifying of a user that’s waiting for approval that is not there… @neil can have a look. Regardless our fix is still valid, you’d have one PM like this instead of, er, hundreds…

We are on latest. Will it take time to drain once we’re on latest or does the later perform a data migration to rectify corrupt state?

Unfortunately there is no migration out of this mess, you will need to clear it manually.
