# Numbered lists in rich text auditor: Auto-escape characters to prevent it

I don’t think we want to remove this list item auto conversion, but most _input rules_ (the auto conversion from text to a formatted visual element) can be reverted if you hit backspace just after the conversion, in this case the Markdown result will be escaped:

15. no list item
