Older profile images being squashed to square

For example, see this profile:

http://forum.talksurf.com/users/jerry/activity

This is what it looks like without sizing the image:

On this page, I placed image links to the png files used on the profile pages, like this. Any issues with doing that? Should the image be added by uploading from the URL? Any logic if the image is already on the server?

We had an old bug here that was fixed, @zogstrip what is the procedure for dumping the optimised images? We should have a rake task for this.

I just upgraded. Is there some sort of batch process that needs running? The squashed profiles look horrible.

Thanks.

@justin_gordon here’s the rake task :tiger2:

Once connected inside the container, you can run the rake avatars:clean command.

(Justin Gordon) #6

Does this mean “log into the docker instance, cd to ???”? I’m using Docker.

(Régis Hanol) #7

It means that you need to ssh into your server, then cd /var/docker and then ssh into the container via ./launcher ssh app

Be sure to upgrade to latest version of Discourse first, of course, via /admin/docker page.

(Justin Gordon) #9

Is this pushed yet? This is what I have.

I’m guessing that the docker install is not updated yet.

There are dozens of “releases” per day. Numbers are basically incremented weekly, more or less. Check /admin/docker and see what it says.

Typing the URL worked.

One slight issue with the new images is that there’s some browser cache of the images that is not expiring after running the rake task. A cmd-shift-R fixes the issue.

Thanks.
