# On a private forum, a link to a topic sends them to the home page instead of the topic when they have to log in

We’re running a private forum that people can only sign-in using their google apps account from our company domain. If I sent someone a link directly to a topic, but they have yet to login (or in some cases yet to create an account), once they login, they are taken to the main page instead of the original link that they followed.

Correct, not a bug, we have yet to implement this feature of carrying the target link through login and signup processes.

@eviltrout has a bit of work around duplicating the social login buttons on the sign up form. Maybe we can see how long it would take.

Yeah, this would be great for adoption of our message board. I’m finding that when I send out an email with a link to a topic, that I’ll see new users signing up, but they’ll have 0 topics and 0 posts read, so I think they’re just getting lost.
