# Optimize the selection of the month for an event

Hello,

I’d like to suggest a usability improvement for this scenario:

When creating a 2-day event using the composer,

if the start date is several months away—

for example, July 14, 2027—

would it be possible for the date picker to automatically default to the month of July?

This would save the user from having to scroll through the months in the picker.

I agree with a restructure and reorganization of these event views. I just disabled the selector and let the monthly event display to give a simple UI/UX to users while dropping the rest.
