# Option to close on import

We have a blog category. We use the RSS Polling plugin to allow members to syndicate blog posts from their own websites. But understandably they don’t want to have to check for comments in multiple places. It would be good to be able to have feed topics automatically marked closed on import.
Having this as a site setting would make sense (rather than per feed), to ensure comments for syndicated content are always in a single location, their source.
Preventing replies in the category is a workaround. But we would like to allow those who don’t have their own website to blog directly here, and replies would be valid for those blog posts.

I’m not very familiar with the plugin but I wonder if these topics could be routed via a separate category on your site through this setting?

Thanks for your suggestion. I tried a separate category and Automation task to move, but couldn’t get the automation to trigger, probably inexperience because it’s the first time I’ve used it.
But after I tried that, I realised that using a sub-category will work for the scenario I have, because my blog category is not already a sub-category.
