# Option to disable own post notification in "mailing list mode"

As far as I see, the following reasons are in favor of echoing your own posts:

- You see that your post has gone through.
- You can reply to your own thread.
- Mailing list people are used to it.

All these apply only to posts made via mail – so ([as I already said in a support topic](https://meta.discourse.org/t/what-is-mailing-list-mode/46008/7)) I’d suggest **echoing posts only if they were emailed in**.
