Outgoing email dropping 'via %{site_name}'' in the from address

How do you drop/modify the ‘via %{site_name}’ from the from address from outgoing emails?

Where are you getting this via %{site_name} ??
Do you mind sharing a screenshot of the problem that you’re trying to solve?

That sounds like what one sees in the “From:” field of an email from Discourse when it sends notices of replies to someone’s post and/or mentions them in a post.

@Keith_John_Hutchison, Is this what you mean? And are you looking to get rid of “via %{site_name}” from the “From:” field in outgoing emails so it only shows the user’s name?

I hope not, this has been asked and answered more than once in the past day.

Yes it has. That’s what I was trying to ascertain if that is what he’s trying to do.

Actually, correction, previously it related to the subject line.

Removing the site name from the from: field is a very bad idea, because it gives the user the impression they’ve received a direct email. There were lots of incidents reported here when people responded to what they thought were private emails only to find that it landed in a public topic to a wider audience.

Search for email_from in the Admin → Customize → Text Content.

/admin/customize/site_texts?q=email_from

Yes.

Do we have access to the category title for this text?

Cool and thanks!

This is what we have for now until I work out how to put the category title into the field.
