# Pasting hyperlinked text in editor

I thought this used to be the case with the old editor… If I copy text from the web that has hyperlinks, didn’t it used to preserve those links when I pasted them into the editor?

Might have been my imagination. I was just trying to copy some text from an old post, and I had to go into edit mode to copy the links easily.
Pretty small use case I imagine.

If I want to copy only the text, I select, copy.
If only the link, right-click, save link address
If the whole “raw” post, Reply, Quote, select, copy, cancel
There may have been other ways, but I’ve not used them if there were.
