Pasting tables into the composer behaves oddly at times

I think @simon meant that the same clipboard content is available as text and image.
I just tested it by copying multiple cells out of LibreOffice Calc. It puts tab delimited text and an image of the cells into the clipboard. I assume Microsoft Excel does the same.

The result is this:

column A	column B
a1	b1
a2	b2

So this is specific to tables? If so this topic has a very incorrect and misleading title, which is extremely annoying..
