Can we change the text in the notification

Hello community,

I’m trying to develop a plugin, but I can’t change the notification text.

image I’d like text like “invite3 voted for your game: Bitoku”

I don’t know if this is possible!

Thanks for your feedback :high_five:

I’ve never tried to customise notifications directly, but you should be able to do it via https://your-forum.com/admin/customize/site_texts

i’m confused - isn’t that a Like notification? why would you want all your likes to be votes?

perhaps you want the Discourse Post Voting plugin, although i have no idea what the notifications for votes looks like?

can you provide more information on what you are trying to accomplish? from your post, it sounds like you just want people to vote on your posts in a topic? if you want people to vote on your topics, you should then use the Discourse Topic Voting plugin.

That’s true, I didn’t go into the details. I use topic voting in three categories that represent board game info sheets. I changed the visual aspect of the voting button to “I want to play it”.

I retrieve all the game sheets to display them on a forum page for the most requested games, in order to see which game table could be organized.

So far, no problems, everything works, except that I would like to add a notification to alert the topic author so that they are notified and know that a player has voted for their topic, since they may not necessarily think to check the most requested games page. That’s why I would like to change the notification text to make it more explicit for users.

In the image, the visual of the green “voted” button informs users of their votes on the topics they have voted for, so they can remember to retrieve their vote for another game by clicking directly on the game title. The blue button allows you to see the number of votes on topics, and when you click on it, you can see the users who have voted.
