# Pinned topics in parent category shown above sub-categories

As requested from the Envato team (@matthew.cox@travis) where they’ve reorganized their forums into two main categories aimed at different users. When the `show subcategory list` setting is enabled, then pinned topics in the parent category are shown below the subcategory list. They would like to be able to show the pinned topic(s) above the subcategory list. Using a global banner won’t work in this case.

The column headings (Topic, Category, Users, Replies) for the pinned topics list probably aren’t needed.

Yeah those “extra” columns have bugged me for a while on pinned topics.

Often we need to make larger community announcements, but in a two sided marketplace we want to be able to segment them to either the customers or the sellers (which are served by our two container categories).
