# Plugin Question (Remove Sidebar)

I am wondering if there is a plugin to remove the sidebar and make the forum categories the homepage

not sure what you mean. the navigation menu (side bar) isn’t a page on its own and collapses, regardless of what page you’re on.
can you explain in more detail what it is you are wanting? i think you might have some terms mixed up or aren’t aware off some existing functionality and settings.
the hamburger icon (top left beside logo) collapses and expands the navigation sidebar menu.

Sorry for the confusion.
As you can see with the WeMod community they’re also using Discourse, there community homepage shows the forums right away and they also don’t have the collapsable sidebar. The have the sidebar features in the top right corner.

go to admin - settings `navigation menu` and you can change sidebar to header drop down.
note that the “legacy” setting [is being phased out at some point](https://meta.discourse.org/t/removing-the-legacy-hamburger-navigation-menu-option/265274).

admin-settings `desktop category page style`
keep in mind users can set their homepage in their preferences under interface
