POP3 reply by email problems all of a sudden

Reply by email has been working fine for months. It’s a gmail account checked via POP3. I just discovered that it stopped working a few days ago. Three emails sitting in the inbox that haven’t shown up in Discourse. No errors in Discourse, though.

I turned on “log mail processing failures” but I’m not seeing anything in there.

I turned POP3 polling off and back on again.

I’m not even sure it’s trying to check the mail. I looked for a “test POP3” button, but didn’t find it.

Any idea how I can troubleshoot/fix this? What could be causing it?

It’s working on my instances; I’d suspect Gmail security settings.

Thanks. I never figured it out. Changed to a new email provider and the problem went away.

No changes in security settings, but perhaps Google was silently blocking the traffic?

The thing that bothered me was that there was no indication in Discourse of anything going wrong. I happened to notice it by accident. Not sure what to make of that…
