一般的に、私たちのユーザーは良識的ですが、特定のトピックになると、実際には解決が必要な非常にデリケートな問題について、小さな炎上戦が勃発することがあります。私たちはそれをモデレーションし、フラグを立てて行動に対処することはできますが、その対応が終わる頃には、当初そのトピックにあった前向きな勢いは失われています。 また、問題そのものが非常に複雑で、正当な批判をしているのか、不当な攻撃をしているのかを見極めるのが難しいこともあります。モデレーターが必要なのは、状況に対応するためのより多くの時間です。現在の選択肢はトピックを閉鎖することだけですが、これもまた建設的な議論を歪めてしまう可能性があります。 すでに投稿した人が、自分の立場を弁護したり、発言を常に明確にしようとしたり、説明を求めたりすることに誘惑されずに会話を落ち着かせ、新しい声を聞けるようにするためのレート制限機能があれば、会話を遅らせ、新たな参加者を歓迎するのに大変役立つでしょう。 このプライベートフォーラムではすでに1日あたり約125人のアクティブユーザーがおり、展開が進むにつれて、オンラインとオフラインの両方で協力するこのコミュニティの人々が数千人に増えると予想されています。また、問題が対立的でニュース性がある場合、数千人のユーザーがそのトピックに関心を持って押し寄せることもあります。人々が発言できる余地を確保するためにも、1人あたりの投稿数を制限することは有用です。 基本的な要望は、トピック制御画面にモデレーターと trust\_level\_4 のユーザーにのみ表示される設定を設け、会話を「X 時間あたり X 投稿」に制限できるようにすることです（設定で調整可能）。これにより、ユーザーには「このトピックの投稿は X 時間あたり X 投稿に制限されています」というバナーが表示されます。 これにより、すべての参加者に、このトピックが厳重に監視されており、フォーラムのより自由な領域とは異なり、言葉選びを慎重に行う必要があることが周知されます。 実装後、この機能は他の用途にも役立ちます。例えば、議論や政策の審議のために自動的に投稿が制限されるカテゴリなどです。 また、この機能は「投稿頻度が高すぎる」といったグローバル設定を必要としないという利点もあります。例えば、15分に設定すると、DM での有用な会話もできなくなってしまう可能性があります（ソフトウェアが DM と他の投稿を区別しないため）。 現在、ユーザーを trust\_level\_0 に落とすことで、ユーザー単位での制限は可能のようです。 > [@Limit the daily number of posts from a user](https://meta.discourse.org/t/limit-the-daily-number-of-posts-from-a-user/89859/4): > > That’s why I asked to limit for a specific user, not everyone slight_smile, but I see how my phrasing could lead to misinterpretation.
