我完全同意这个说法。最终用户没有理由知道使用的是什么论坛软件的版本。我曾读到过，在某些论坛软件中，他们过去会在页脚的版权信息中包含版本号，结果发现某些版本存在安全漏洞，人们会专门攻击运行该特定版本软件的网站。 我本人不介意用户知道我使用的是什么软件，尽管我几乎在我过去使用的所有论坛软件上都购买了版权移除，但这并不是因为我想隐藏我使用的东西，而是因为我认为客户应该有权选择是否显示它。如果我的社区成员问我使用的是什么软件，我也不介意告诉他们。 我喜欢 Discourse 即使是免费自托管，默认也不显示版权信息，就像我正在使用的另一个论坛软件一样。我讨厌当我支付数百美元购买某样东西时，却被强制显示版权信息，除非我再支付数百美元，但我想这就是事情的运作方式。 再说回主题，我使用这个论坛软件的时间还不长，所以还不知道是否存在任何潜在的漏洞，但我认为版本号不应该在面向用户的社区一侧显示。只有管理员等在需要支持时才需要知道这些信息。 ---

最终用户如何告知管理员他们正在运行旧版本并且需要更新，如果最终用户甚至不允许检查他们正在使用的版本？ ---

非管理员无需知道网站正在使用哪个版本。如果管理员尚未更新，可能是因为他们无法更新，因为正在使用某个插件或主题，或者服务器限制不允许更新到新版本，或者管理员只是没有考虑更新。同样，非管理员也没有理由需要知道正在使用哪个版本。 ---

好的。版本号就算了。可能是一些家庭里的父母都看不懂的 GitHub 提交字符串（我不知道。作为一个普通终端用户，我看不到它。） 不如来点“新鲜度日期”，让终端用户可以大概了解他们的管理员让 Discourse 变得多么过时，而无需每次想检查时都问一些可能令人恼火的问题。 顺便问一下，如果关闭这个话题，我正在发送的这封电子邮件回复会怎么样？ ---
